    Data Collection

    HSK does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All game data — including scores, word lists, and settings — is stored locally on your device using your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

    Third-Party Services

    HSK uses the following third-party services that may collect anonymous usage data:

    • Outcome Analytics — self-hosted, first-party usage metrics served from this domain. It records page views and a handful of named actions (saving a word, finishing a game) to measure whether the app is useful. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no personal data.
    • Hanzi Writer — loads a JavaScript library from a CDN for rendering Chinese character stroke animations.

    Local Storage

    HSK stores the following information in your browser's local storage: game progress, custom word lists, user preferences (theme, language level), and high scores. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser data for this site or using the in-app settings.
