Connect HSK Studio’s free dictionary and passage tools to look up words, estimate reading difficulty and practice vocabulary from a Chinese passage.
HSK Studio provides the dictionary data and exercises; ChatGPT hosts the conversation. This is a custom MCP connection. Availability depends on your ChatGPT account and workspace permissions.
Connect HSK Studio
Use your ChatGPT custom MCP app or plugin setup. Add the name HSK Studio, choose no authentication and use this remote server endpoint:

Get word frequencies, coverage by HSK level and unmatched characters. HSK coverage estimates difficulty; it is not a comprehension test or an official proficiency score.

Practice vocabulary and sentences
Build vocabulary cards and fill-in-the-blank exercises from your passage. Ask ChatGPT to quiz you one item at a time.

What is shared and saved?
When you request a tool call, ChatGPT sends the query or passage to the HSK Studio server. Passage tools accept up to 12,000 characters and return at most 30 words or cards. These calls do not publish a lesson or create a persistent review deck.
The connection cannot read or change your browser’s saved vocabulary, passages or review schedule. To keep words for spaced review, open the browser reader and save them there. Your ChatGPT conversation is subject to your ChatGPT settings.
